The ultimate (DIY) Do it yourself home decor guide

(DIY) do it yourself home decor guide for you

Many people know or at least understand that hiring a professional home decorator to do a home makeover, or to simply do interior design for a new house from scratch is very costly. We all try our best to find the best way to achieve something in the cheapest manner, in this case to decorate our homes. But people don't understand that it’s not as easy as just googling or finding do it yourself home decor or home decor shops. This will lead to a terrible home design which won't at all be what you wanted in the first place. The best way to go about this is to use a strategic and well structured plan.

This is a plan i always advise people to use when doing do it yourself home decoration or make over’s. The plan is very simple yet effective. Most might think it’s really useless and just opt for a home decorator to do it for them from scratch and end up paying up to 500% of what they could've. Or they opt to do it in an unorganized way and make their house look even worse. Which sounds really impossible but thats what most people do, this guide will help you avoid just that.

Before i introduce the strategy to you its best i tell you the main advantages of this plan or why i think its really great.

First of all you'll be ultimately in charge. Nobody will tell you what to do and your call will be your call, period. You have a chance to design your house the way you wanted to in the first place and you won't have to deal with home decorators that end up changing your mind to something THEY PREFFER.

Secondly, like i said before, the prices of decorating your home yourself using your own interior design ideas is up to a fifth of what you'd normally pay a person to do it from scratch.

The plan

Identify your theme- Before you do anything else you need to identify your theme. How do you want your house to look like? Do you want it to have a modern look or an African look? The best way to identify your theme is by imagining your dream house or dream interior design. Once you do this you simply have to extract the theme from the picture you envision and there you have it, you've selected your theme.

It might not be that easy for all of you, trust me i know. So if you're still struggling to choose one at this point its best you sketch your own room or home design ideas. Let your mind go wild, it could be cool home decor ideas or anything else, just make sure it suits your personality, it’s your home.

know your budget- Unless you're Bill Gates you'll definitely need to identify your budget because this will help you know exactly what you can buy or you'll know your options. When you know your budget you will then be able to identify a shop. I wanted to put finding a shop before "know your budget" but then I realised the importance. It only makes this do it yourself home decor guide better, yaaay!!

I advise you to consult your spouse, girl friend/boy friend or whoever it is you live with or that might be affected by this financially.

(Finally!!) Choose your shop  wholesaler/supplier- That sounds cheaper doesn't it? Don't waste your time finding a shop that will sell you the home decor for a retail price while someone is selling it for a much cheaper price. There are home decor wholesalers all over the world, it doesn't matter which theme you choose; you will always have an option.

If you can't find any near you i recommend you search online for some, the internet is flooded with online home decor wholesalers. For instance, if you choose African as your theme you could check out African home decor wholesalers like African home decor wholesaler. You need a place where you can get cheap high quality home decor and that’s usually from home decor wholesalers both on and offline. Don't be lazy! Find a wholesaler that suits your theme and budget, you'll save yourself a lot of money, after all it is called do it yourself home decor.

NB: It's also a good idea to buy from not only one wholesaler but from multiple others too.

Last but not least do it yourself!- Again it’s called do it yourself home decor for a reason. After you buy your home decor from a home decor wholesaler you should get working. There are many guides on how to do stuff like drill through walls to hang stuff up or how to use general home hardware tools. I recommend you read up on whatever you're not sure of in the process of setting up your home decor. I don't want anybody dying and people pointing fingers at me.
